As the U.S. team moves into a new era and new World Cup cycle, Bradley has sought to lay claim to his position in the center of midfield with the same ferocity that he shows when tackling some of the world's best in that position. Hard nosed, and with an eye for the game far beyond his twenty years, Bradley's simple playing style allows him to fit seamlessly in to most playing systems by linking the defense and the attack.
- Earned his first two caps in the buildup to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where he was a member of the pre-tournament training camp and friendlies.
- His transfer to Heerenveen from the Metrostars in 2006 meant he was, at the time, the youngest player ever sold by MLS.
- Despite his status as a regular international for the senior squad, he was included as a member of the 2007 U-20 FIFA World Cup team, and played a vital part for the U.S. team that advanced all the way to the quarterfinals.
